Reminder, to volunteer for any activity at any Mason County School, you must be a board approved volunteer. To become a volunteer at Hannan, you must fill out a volunteer form for Dr. Carlisle to approve, and then he will forward it to the board for final approval. Volunteer forms are available at school, or please see attached.
Attn Seniors and parents/guardians: FAFSA Workshop NEW DATE!! The rescheduled FAFSA workshop will be February 24th from 4 pm to 6 pm. If you can't be there right at 4:00 pm, no problem. We will be there until 6:00 pm. Pizza will be provided so don't worry about dinner that night! Also, at 1:00 pm on the 24th, we will have someone from the Higher Education Policy Commission help the students fill out the PROMISE scholarship.
As of this time , we know the following bus routes will be unable to run at all today. They will not run in the morning or afternoon due to high water:

Bus 236- Misty Bowen
Bus 202- Wayne Hall
Other routes affected that could result in only partial runs:

Due to weather conditions/high water, the FAFSA workshop scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 18 is cancelled. We will reschedule and get a date out ASAP. The College field trip schedule for tomorrow is cancelled. All 4T Vocational students still report to the career center tomorrow. ****UPDATE: FAFSA Workshop is CANCELLED due to flooding. We want to keep our Seniors safe and not risk traveling the roads due to flooding for the workshop. We will update you with a new date as soon as we can.
P.S. I love you! Hannan High School LOVES their students and wishes everyone a Happy Valentine's Day! To celebrate attendance, heart shaped sunglasses were handed out today. Our students' futures are SO BRIGHT, they gotta wear shades!!!
Don't forget to turn in those Teen Institute applications for 7th; 8th and 9th graders! The Teen Institute is a daylong workshop held on March 18, 2025 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Pt Pleasant. This daylong event will dive into the topics of Substance Use Prevention and Learning Positive Choices. Transportation will be provided. Applications are due by February 18th in the office.
Save the Date!!! On April 12 th is Marshall University 's Green & White Day open house .
The field trip will be available for 9th, 10th and 11th graders. This trip can open your eyes to a world of possibilities. Green & White Day is a great way to experience life at Marshall University and beyond.
